Futurology is the study of future possibilities through the analysis of current and past trends. We also call it futures research, but practitioners commonly refer to it as futures. It is a systematic attempt to look at current and historical trends to predict what will happen.

According to Moore's Law, the number of transistors on a microchip doubles about every two years, even though the cost of computers has halved.

However, it is important to note that Moore's law has been slowing down in recent years, and it is unclear whether it will continue to hold in the future.

Assuming that Moore's law continues to hold for the next 3, 10, and 50 years, we can make some predictions about the capacity of a typical hard drive and the processing speed equivalent.

  1. The capacity of a typical hard drive in 3 years' time:

As of 2021, the average capacity of a hard drive is around 4 TB. Assuming that the capacity doubles every two years, in three years, the capacity would double twice, or 4 times the current capacity. Therefore, the capacity of a typical hard drive in 3 years' time would be approximately 16 TB.

  1. The processing speed equivalent in 3 years' time:

As of 2021, the fastest supercomputer can perform at a speed of about 442 petaflops (quadrillion floating point operations per second). Assuming that processing power doubles every two years, in three years, it would double once, or be twice the current speed. Therefore, the processing speed equivalent in 3 years' time would be approximately 884 petaflops.

  1. The capacity of a typical hard drive in 10 years' time:

Following the same logic as above, in 10 years, the capacity of a typical hard drive would double five times, or 32 times the current capacity. Therefore, the capacity of a typical hard drive in 10 years' time would be approximately 128 TB.

  1. The processing speed equivalent in 10 years time:

Following the same logic as above, in 10 years, processing power would double five times, or be 32 times the current speed. Therefore, the processing speed equivalent in 10 years' time would be approximately 14,144 petaflops.

  1. The capacity of a typical hard drive in 50 years' time:

In 50 years, assuming that Moore's law continues to hold, the capacity of a typical hard drive would double 25 times, or be 33,554,432 times the current capacity. Therefore, the capacity of a typical hard drive in 50 years' time would be approximately 134,217,728 TB or 134 exabytes.

  1. The processing speed equivalent in 50 years' time:

In 50 years, assuming that Moore's law continues to hold, processing power would double 25 times, or be 33,554,432 times the current speed. Therefore, the processing speed equivalent in 50 years' time would be approximately 14,827,264 petaflops or 14.8 exaflops.

Jesse said "We don’t have any health app” hence we will not be able to further reply to the salesperson. Really a health app to be able to own a car,” said Rob with an angry tone. 

The next day, Rob and Jesse went to a health center to receive those health apps. I have heard that it assigns three colors to people — green, yellow, and red on basics for medical. "Whether a person should be able to own any cars and mobile phones or allowed to live in an apartment or table in a public space will be decided based on the color Code, "said Jesse. After carrying out all the tests they were ready to go. How it that supposed to work asked Rob will explain to you. We must log into the app using pay wallet services like PayPal. Only those people who were assigned a green color code could be allowed in public spheres. after using the designated QR code at metro stations, offices, and public places there were checkpoints at most public places where the code and a person’s body temperature were checked. However, for the buying of any electronic devices like mobile phones and cars if your code is green it will be fine but if during a check-up your code color change, they will take your cars and mobile phone as you will be unstable to use them” “everyone is using this system, "said Rob. Of course, Rob,” said Jesse. 

At night Rob viewed the health app status confused he calls Jesse. So, Jesse my health status is normal which means green right,” said Jesse. I've got the same as you, Rob, said Jesse Cool at least we are not crazy and spend our thirties in a mental hospital, said Rob to which Jesse replied “Also not be able to get married” They both burst off a laugh. 

Two months after, they went to the same car showroom. Nice to meet again sir may I say your health app code.” Both Rob and Jesse took out their phone and let the man scan the code which display a green code. Next, a machine scans them and shows their current temperature and emotions “If my girlfriend breaks up with me, I simply have to let that machine scan me and then let her know how heartbroken I am,” said Jesse. After the check-in, the man nodded, and with a smile, he said How can I help you “to which Jesse replied "I am here to buy a car for my friend. Could you please help me with that? Great follow me and after two hours Rob was finally the owner of a Dzire car.
